DIRECTORS

Brian Grant

Brian joined the board in 1998. He has 10 years experience in an engineering based trade and 20 years in the timber industry with a major international corporation. Brian has a broad knowledge of large business management and project management.

Alistair Ward

Alistair has been involved with the Company since 1989, initially in his role as General Manager of Golden Bay Cement, a position he held until 1996. Alistair then joined Fletcher Building. In 1998 Alistair established a corporate advisory firm, Campbell McPherson Ltd that works throughout New Zealand, mainly in the building materials and resource sector. Alistair joined the CRMC Board as an independent professional director in 2005.

Ray Polson

Ray joined the CRMC Board mid 2014 as an independent director. Ray has a background as a Chartered Accountant in Dunedin and Christchurch, retiring from Polson Higgs in 2007. Ray has over 25 years experience in governance positions including chairman of Aurora Energy, Delta Utility Services, Port Gisborne, Selwyn Plantation Board, Ophir Gold and Geo Systems. Ray is an active member of the Institute of Directors, representing the Canterbury Branch on the National Council and chairing the newly formed commercial arm IOD NZ Ltd.

Neil Grant

Neil joined the board in late 2015. Neil has worked in every aspect of the business since joining CRMC in 1985 and as such can provide a knowledgeable sales service to our customers. Neil works closely with the dispatchers who field most of the day to day orders so that there is a smooth interaction between sales, dispatch and delivery.

Management Team

Hayden Leach – General Manager

Hayden joined CRMC in July 2014 and comes from a civil engineering, mining and manufacturing background. Hayden has held a number of positions within Holcim Cement and Solid Energy with specialisation in quality management and operation co-ordination. Hayden has a Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Canterbury and has a Masters Degree in Mining Engineering Management through the University of New South Wales, Australia. Hayden has a passion for product quality and process improvement.

Janis Gregan - Accountant/Finance Manager

Janis joined CRMC in 2006 and has led a drive to improve our accounting procedures for internal managers and customers. Janis has worked at a high level for a major New Zealand Corporation and is qualified as an Associate Chartered Accountant.

Richard Sands - Concrete Manager

Richard joined CRMC in 2001 coming from a background in earthmoving. During his time with the company Richard has been successful in many roles; managing our Hornby site, including developing a thriving trade yard at Hornby; responsibility for all our IT needs, which included the move to computerised batch and dispatch systems for the concrete division. Over the past three years Richard has held the role of Contracting Manager and has delivered exceptional results, growing the contracting division into the very successful and important division of CRMC that it is today. Richard has a reputation for delivery of projects on time and to specification. Richard enjoys the challenges of being Concrete Manager in a very demanding market, as the rebuild of Christchurch gathers momentum.

Tom Beaumont - Aggregates Manager

Tom Beaumont joined CRMC in 2018 coming from a background in operations management. Tom has held several positions in Winstone Aggregates and Higgins Contractors, with a focus on quarry management and operational strategy. He has a strong interest in process and business model optimisation, people leadership, and harnessing innovation. Tom has a degree in Natural Resource Engineering and a master’s in engineering management from the University of Canterbury.

James Eckersley - Estimation & Business Development Manager

James is a consummate professional who has vast experience in the construction, concrete and aggregates markets. James has been working CRMC for over 6 years in various capacities and enjoys the challenge and commercial focus that his current role offers. Prior to working with CRMC, James was working for national and international corporate organisations all related to the concrete and aggregate sector. James has great product knowledge around the various offerings that CRMC can provide and is always keen to understand the problems and tailor a solution applicable to the client. James takes price in the quality of our product and product and is very passionate about customer relationships.
